The author:

He grew up in a village called Vyšná Jedľová and since 1991, he has lived in Bratislava. When he was 14, he moved to Prešov, where he studied at a secondary school and consequently, he studied Social Work at the Comenius University, Bratislava. In 2006, he graduated from the International Business School in Brno. He is an experienced professional in marketing of telecommunication and on-line services.

His work on a genealogical project served him as an important source of inspiration for a part of the stories he monitored in his book Carpathia (2011), as it enabled him to travel across the geographical area he was writing about. His successful debut is followed up by his second work Entropia (2012) while the third part of the trilogy is .Informácia (2013).

The book:

Carpathia takes the reader to a journey through the regions inhabited by the Rusyn ethnic group. Within the pages of this book, you will visit not only localities in Slovakia, but also the Lemko Region in Poland, Carpathian Ruthenia and the communities of Rusyn “emigrants” living in Bratislava and in the USA. You will also get a chance to meet Andrij Pysanskyj, Andy Warhol, Gotthard Heinrici and many other real or invented characters connected in some way with this geographical area.

Lesz még kikelet! (Spring will come!) is a monograph on the WWII history of the Hungarian Royal 27^th Székely Light Division between 1940 and 1945. Árpád-Róbert Berekméri (archivist at the Mures District Records of the Transylvanian Calvinist Church) accomplished this book following painstaking research. The first units of the book present the circumstances of the Hungarian army getting established in Transylvania following the 2nd Vienna Award and the formation of the 27^th Székely Light Division. Further units render details of life as a recruit, various trainings, courses as well as contests and games organized by the army, also shedding light on the role the presence of the soldiers had in Székely towns’ community life. The fourth part is about the first period of battlefield activity in 1942-43 on the East Front as part of the 2^nd Hungarian Army. The next part details the last peace-time year of the 27^th Székely Light Division, first of all, their contribution in setting up the Székely Border Guard and re-organizing army structure after the Szabolcs Plan was introduced. The last two units are accounts of the 27^th Székely Light Division’s 1944-45 activity in Galicia, Transylvania, Hungary, on the Czech-Moravian territory and then in Austria right up to capitulation.

In this book, Katalin Cseh ventures on uncharted territory: during a visit made at the Psychiatric Hospital in Borsa, Romania, she made several acquaintances among the patients. They are the ones who speak up in these poems, expressing their sense of loss, their feelings and impressions. People of various backgrounds and age, they share their loneliness, need for love and frustrations. They desperately try to find their way in the chaos of conscious and subconscious, normality and a word broken into pieces. Medgidia, the Town that Was is the novel of a multicultural Dobrudja town and a family. It presents the complicated history of the little town and also of Romania in the 1940s through the fate of the railway station restaurant’s owner and other characters. The everyday life of a number of vivacious people is presented to the reader, often in a humorous tone: Romanians Gypsies, Russians, Turks, Tartars, Armenians and Jews sharing a living space, becoming either inert tools of history or, quite the contrary, successfully maintaining their integrity thanks to their wisdom and experience of life.
